Airport Runway Project Begins Monday, Prompting Traffic Advisory
MANSFIELD — Mansfield Municipal Airport will begin a major runway and taxiway improvement project on Monday, July 13, prompting a town traffic advisory, while Phase III water restrictions imposed earlier this summer remain in effect for residents.

The Town of Mansfield issued a traffic advisory ahead of construction beginning Monday, July 13, at Mansfield Municipal Airport, located at 265 Fruit Street. The project involves significant site improvements, including renovations and upgrades to the airport's runway and taxiway areas, and drivers in the area should expect disruptions once work gets underway.
Separately, the town's alert center continues to flag Phase III water restrictions, effective since June 10, urging residents to curb water use as the summer continues. The Town Manager is also organizing a series of community focus groups to collect resident feedback on topics affecting the community and the town's budget plan, according to the town's website; specific dates were not yet listed.
The July 2026 edition of the Town Newsletter has also been released, featuring updates from town departments, boards, and committees, alongside a routine cybersecurity communication from the Information Technologies office covering a recent scam scenario and how to avoid it.

The Mansfield Public Library is rolling out a new delivery service for homebound patrons, aimed at extending access to library materials for residents who cannot visit the branch in person, according to the library's announcement.
The library's calendar is active this week with several family and teen programs, including Story Time for Tots sessions on Saturday, July 11 and Tuesday, July 14, a Spice Club program and Game On teen event on Saturday, July 11, and Bilingual Story Time along with a Magic: The Gathering session for teens on Monday, July 13.

Airport Commission meets Monday, July 13, the same day construction begins at Mansfield Municipal Airport. The Board of Assessors, Housing Authority, School Committee joint session with the Select Board, and the Select Board itself all meet Wednesday, July 15, followed by the Animal Welfare Committee on Thursday, July 16.
