NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH — The North Attleborough Retirement Board voted unanimously to extend its pension administration software contract with PTG for one year at $34,522.75, holding off on a vendor switch amid litigation between PTG and competitor Bay State. A member said he was "not comfortable making a leap at this point in time" given uncertainty over which company controls the underlying software platform, developed by a firm referred to as HRMECA. The board also approved legal fees of $2,230.14 to Ice Miller over a lingering IRS lien issue and $871.50 to attorney Michael Sacco, plus a $1,248,835.89 October payroll and disbursements warrant.
Staff reported retirees have faced difficulties enrolling in new health coverage through the Group Insurance Commission, with some lacking working phone numbers or computer access. One member called the cost-savings pitch for the GIC switch "perturbing" after finding several plans cost the same or more than her prior Blue Cross Blue Shield coverage.
