Dighton Assessors Recommend Town Waive Right on 80-Acre William Street Parcel
Other Committee · Meeting of May 13, 2026
Dighton Board of Assessors unanimously recommends the town waive its right of first refusal on an 80-acre William Street parcel enrolled in Chapter 61A. The board, identified by first names as Bill (chair), Nancy, and Eric, voted May 13 to forward a recommendation to the Board of Selectmen and Town Administrator that the town decline to purchase Zero William Street, Map 21, Lot 20, which buyer Tony Almeida is under agreement to acquire for a proposed conservation subdivision informally called Almeida Ridge. The Planning Board had granted preliminary approval for the project last July.
Because 33 of the roughly 80 acres are being removed from Chapter 61A farmland status, the board also approved rollback tax calculations totaling $9,544.84, covering fiscal years 2022 through 2026 plus a $6 certificate fee. The board also approved motor vehicle abatements spanning levy years 2023 through 2026, totaling $13,126.48, before entering executive session on a fiscal year 2026 abatement application involving Dighton Power LLC and D.A.C.
