Fairhaven Republicans announced a Feb. 25 caucus to pick 2026 convention delegates. Bob McConnell, chair of the Fairhaven Republican Town Committee and newly elected Republican State Committeeman for the 2nd Bristol and Plymouth District, said the caucus runs 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fairhaven Recreation and Senior Center on Huttleston Avenue. Delegates chosen there will attend the Massachusetts Republican Convention on April 25 at the DCU Center in Worcester, where McConnell said a candidate needs at least 15 percent of delegate votes to qualify for the ballot.
He said participants must have been registered Republicans in Fairhaven by December 31, 2025, with an exception for new 18-year-olds. "This caucus is not ceremonial," McConnell said, adding the state primary falls September 1 and the general election November 3, 2026.
