Mansfield School Committee Accepts $190,000 in Earmarks
School Committee · Meeting of September 22, 2026
Mansfield School Committee accepts $190,000 in state earmarks, approves scoreboard ad policy. Chair Jen Walsh's board voted 5-0 to accept four earmarks secured through the town's state representatives and senator: $40,000 and $50,000 fair share and state awards for multimedia lab space, $60,000 for districtwide mental health supports, and $40,000 for middle school auditorium equipment. Members also approved, 5-0, new sponsorship and advertising policies allowing tiered digital scoreboard ads at Mansfield High School, and a $600,000 school capital plan split between $200,000 for fire alarm control panel replacements and $400,000 for building maintenance, largely paving.
The board separately approved a 2028 World Travel Club tour of Italy priced at $5,403 with early enrollment, after one member warned, "we are approaching a point at which is really not financially accessible to a large number of families." Minutes from August 11 passed 4-0-1 after member Jessica Davis corrected a student-services figure.
