North Attleborough Historical Society Announces Two July Heritage Events

With two historical society events on the near horizon, North Attleborough is lining up a summer rich in local heritage — just as the town's "Celebrating Liberty's Legacy" commemoration approaches the Fourth of July stretch.

The North Attleborough Historical Society is hosting a pair of outdoor history events over the first two weekends of July. On Sunday, July 5, from noon to 3 p.m., the society will gather at the historic Woodcock Garrison House for "Voices of the Past at the Woodcock Cemetery," an afternoon program designed to draw connections between North Attleborough's local story and the birth of the nation.

Then, on Sunday, July 12, at 2 p.m., the North Attleborough and Attleboro Historical Societies are jointly hosting a tour of the Old Towne Church and Powder House. Special guest G. A. "Paolo" Di Gregorio — known as the Artifactual Scholar — will lead the tour. Both events are free and open to the public.

These programs are part of a broader summer season that also includes the town's Cultural Council Summer Concert Series and the "Twice is Nice" 2.5- and 5-mile road race on July 12.
