Norton High School dedicates school year to memory of longtime coach Ken Taylor
NORTON -- Norton High School is dedicating the 2026-27 school year to the memory of longtime teacher and coach Ken Taylor, following his death.
HIGH SCHOOL -- At the Sept. 23 Norton School Committee meeting, a Norton High School administrator told the committee that staff and students "lost a very near, dear friend" in Ken Taylor, described as "a long time English teacher, coach for track and for cross country." The administrator said colleagues, students and parents across the district spoke of Taylor often, with one parent at a cross country meet calling him "famous." The administrator said the building has adopted the theme "Carpe diem" this year in Taylor's honor, saying he was known for "seizing in the moment" and not missing "opportunities in front of you." The administrator tied the tribute to a broader focus this year on strengthening connections between staff and students at the high school.
