MANSFIELD — The Mansfield School Committee voted 4-0 to approve a new HR generalist job description after the district's human resources director retired in September. Superintendent McKeon said the generalist position, budgeted at $65,000 to $75,000, would save roughly $70,000 compared with the vacant director's salary, though members questioned whether that counted as real budget savings. The committee also approved the 2026-27 school resource officer MOU with the Mansfield Police Department, 4-0, after flagging outdated salary language.
Director of Finance and Operations Matt reported the district will save "well over $100,000" by having a New Jersey company remove two obsolete Qualters Middle School modular buildings for a winning bid of $110, and warned that new bus contracts are settling near $600 per bus per day versus Mansfield's current $465 rate. The committee also approved ten revised school policies and reviewed its response to an open meeting law complaint.
