Swansea Library Launches Summer Reading Season with Author Visit and Kids' Events

With the first full week of summer under way, Swansea enters the weekend with the public library's summer programming season open for business and no urgent town-hall news in the cycle.

The Swansea Free Public Library's summer season is in full swing at 69 Main Street. The library's homepage highlights two recent marquee moments: an author visit with Steven Manchester on Thursday, June 25, and a Summer Reading Kick-Off featuring Mr. Vinny the Bubble Guy and watermelon games — a sign that children's programming is ramping up for the warm months ahead. Regular hours continue through the summer: Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cardholders can also access digital content — eBooks, audiobooks, comics, movies, and music — through Libby, Hoopla, and Comics Plus at any hour.
