Dighton Board of Assessors Reorganizes, Approves Nearly $4,400 in Levy Actions

DIGHTON — April 22, 2026 — Dighton Board of Assessors reorganizes leadership and approves routine levy actions totaling roughly $4,393. Meeting Wednesday morning, the three-member board — with one assessor joining by phone — unanimously reaffirmed Nancy Goulart as Clerk and elected a new Chair, who will notify the town clerk of the reorganization. The board then approved a series of fiscal year 2026 and 2023 levy documents: FY2023 motor vehicle abatements of $890.31, FY2026 real estate exemptions of $2,800, companion Community Preservation Act exemptions of $23.99, previously approved real estate abatements of $672.30, and CPA abatements of $6.65. One member reported attending a regional training session the prior Thursday at which a MassHousing representative discussed Chapter 40B affordable-housing permitting via Zoom. The board voted to enter executive session under MGL Chapter 38, Section 21A(7) to comply with special law or federal grant-in-aid requirements and did not return to open session.
