DIGHTON — June 18, 2026 — Dighton Conservation Commission reorganizes leadership and issues new enforcement order at June meeting. The commission voted unanimously Thursday to elect a new chair — identified at the meeting as Dave — replacing the outgoing chair who stepped down after roughly five years in the role; Jason Lawrence was simultaneously elevated from associate to full member, filling a seat vacated by the departure of Paul. The board approved an Order of Conditions for Scott and Barbara Papa's addition and driveway project at 1503 Smith Street, pending a revised plan showing required wetland buffer markers — a case the applicants said had stretched nearly 60 days. A new formal enforcement order was issued unanimously against the owner of 826 Williams Street for unpermitted earthwork and contractor-equipment staging near a wetland resource area adjacent to a public surface water supply, after an earlier verbal warning in March went unheeded. Three continued hearings — including a Zeneca application to lower Muddy Cove Pond and two wetland delineation reviews — were carried to the commission's next meeting on July 16.
