Dighton Economic Development Committee targets September for business networking event

DIGHTON — May 25, 2026 — Dighton Economic Development Committee advances plans for a fall networking event and a restaurant promotion program. Meeting on Memorial Day evening, the committee settled on Old Town Hall as the venue for a general business networking event — chosen for its parking capacity — targeting a date of September 12 or 19, 2026, with September 12 as the first choice. A separate "Dighton Dining Day" concept would use a passport-style stamp card at local food businesses including Alice's, Haley's Diner, Country Diner, Dunkin' Donuts, Rochelle's, and others, with completed cards entered into a raffle. The committee also formalized rules for its December roadside sign advertising program, deciding on one winner for two sign locations — at Williams and Center and at Forest and Tremont — with a drawing at the September meeting following June-to-August social media promotion. The committee noted its projected operating budget for the coming year is approximately $400. Chamber contact Chris Soto is scheduled to help draft a networking event flyer on June 11.
