Easton committee moves Dec. 3 meeting to Dec. 7

School Committee · Meeting of October 29, 2026

Easton's School Committee heard a new FY28 budget process and ratified a secretarial union agreement. Superintendent Christine Pruitt said the district will build the budget from student data and enrollment, with a level-service budget targeted for town officials by Jan. 22 and a committee vote in March or April. "Level funding and level service are not the same thing," Pruitt said.

She said Oliver Ames is not a MassCore school, and that adopting MassCore's two-year world language requirement, versus zero locally, would mean more courses. The committee moved its Dec. 3 meeting to Dec. 7, accepted the retirement of 26-year paraprofessional Anne Siegel, and ratified a memorandum of agreement with the Southeastern Public Employees Association.
