Easton Housing Authority Approves Revised FY2027 Budget After State Rejects Initial Submission

EASTON — May 12, 2026 — Easton Housing Authority approves revised FY2027 budget and new staff position following state rejection of initial submission. The five-member board voted unanimously on all items at its May 12 meeting, approving a revised fiscal year 2027 budget that adds $17,608 in state-mandated maintenance labor costs, a $17,900 increase in administrative salaries for a new 30-hour benefit-eligible administrative position, and $25,794 in additional benefits — changes the authority's fee accountant, Dan Robolat, said are financially sustainable. The board also approved an April warrant of $235,092.89 that includes displacement payments to residents affected by a Parker Street building fire and related flooding, with directly impacted households receiving $750 each under state law and two adjacent units receiving $150 each from the authority's insurance carrier. Four units — 41 Parker, 43 Parker, 123, and 124 — remain offline for full rehabilitation, with all displaced tenants permanently rehoused. The board also approved $1,940 for a May 20 resident cookout tied to the town's 250th anniversary and set its next meeting for June 16.
