Fall River Closes June With No New Municipal Announcements

The final day of June brought no major municipal announcements or school district news from Fall River's official channels, though the city's ongoing infrastructure projects and summer library hours continue to shape daily life in the city.

No new News Flash items were published by the city in this cycle. Standing items of note for residents heading into the July 4th holiday week: Columbia Street between Broadway and Milliken Boulevard remains one-way heading easterly as part of an ongoing construction project. The Route 79–Davol Street Corridor improvement work also continues; residents should check the city's road closures page at fallriverma.gov for the latest traffic configurations before traveling through the downtown corridor.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Fall River Public Library has shifted to its summer schedule as of mid-June. The main branch at 104 North Main Street is now open Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Fridays 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The library is closed Saturdays through Labor Day.

Patrons looking for something beyond books this summer can borrow from the library's expanding "Library of Things" collection, which includes wifi hotspots, Nintendo Switch Lites, bicycles, and ukuleles. Two new museum passes have also been added to the library's collection: the Norman Bird Sanctuary in Middletown, R.I., and the House of the Seven Gables in Salem. Passes can be reserved online at fallriverlibrary.org.
