Fall River Public Library Switches to Summer Hours Starting Mid-June

City offices and schools had no major announcements in Tuesday's coverage window, but residents heading to the Fall River Public Library should note that summer hours are now in effect through Labor Day.

The Fall River Public Library has shifted to its summer schedule, running Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday hours are suspended until after Labor Day.

The library also recently added two new free or reduced-rate museum passes to its collection: one for the Norman Bird Sanctuary in Middletown, R.I., and one for the House of the Seven Gables in Salem. Residents can check availability and reserve passes online at the library's website.

For those interested in local history, the library now offers online access to digitized editions of the Fall River Herald News spanning 1926 through 1979, part of a growing local history collection that also includes historical maps, yearbooks, and city directories.
