Finance Committee Approves $73,000 Antenna Relocation
Finance Committee · Meeting of October 5, 2026
Dighton Finance Committee backs $73,000 to relocate water-tank antennas ahead of a planned rehab. The panel, voting unanimously on every item, also recommended $29,732.57 in free cash and $14,866.28 from the ambulance fund for dispatch software, plus $36,158.27 in free cash for Zetron radio equipment. Members re-voted Article 3 to a revised total of $137,915 after staffer Serena flagged shortfalls including a $2,651 Comcast bill and a $30,000 town counsel replenishment tied to a Board of Assessors valuation dispute.
"It's an OSHA violation to use the safety ladder with these things in the water," a project representative said of the antennas, which must come off the Elm Street tank before repainting and ladder work begin. Jacob Sevens flagged a looming highway truck request worth "almost $300,000" that is unlikely to make this year's warrant. The Board of Selectmen decide Oct. 14 whether Article 18 makes the ballot.
