Freetown OKs Salon Wine License, Fence, HVAC Deals

Select Board · Meeting of October 5, 2026

Freetown Select Board approves wine license for a Mill Street salon despite safety concerns. Owner Morgan Taylor won unanimous approval to serve complimentary wine and mimosas to bridal clients at Wild and Bloom Beauty Company, with service hours set seven days a week, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Abutter Tom Petrowski said the salon sits near "a dangerous intersection" with past fatal crashes.

The board separately heard that Freetown's decade-old Community Electricity Aggregation program, run with broker Good Energy, has saved residents $6.3 million through a locked 14-cent-per-kilowatt-hour rate running through November 2028. Also approved: a $15,220 HVAC maintenance contract for the police station, a $15,080 fence to stop e-bikes from damaging a new pickleball court, a $4,550 infrared roof survey at Freetown Elementary School, and the disbanding of the town's Master Plan Committee, nearly a decade after its work began.
