North Attleborough Implements Stage 2 Outdoor Water Restriction

NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH — The Town of North Attleborough has moved to a Stage 2 outdoor water restriction, prohibiting all non-essential outdoor water use townwide, according to a town announcement.

TOWN HALL

Town officials say the Stage 2 restriction is now in effect and bars non-essential outdoor water use, a step up in the town's water conservation measures. The announcement did not specify an end date for the restriction.

Falls and Whitings Ponds remain closed to swimmers because of elevated bacteria levels, the Health Department said, with no reopening date set, an ongoing closure the town's News Flash service has continued to flag. The Board of Health takes up water and pond issues at a hybrid public meeting Tuesday.

COMING UP

At least six town boards and committees are scheduled to meet in North Attleborough this week. The Northern Bristol County Public Health Alliance holds a virtual public meeting Tuesday, Aug. 11, followed by a Board of Health hybrid meeting the same day.

On Wednesday, Aug. 12, the Joint Transportation Planning Group holds a hybrid meeting, the School Committee meets, and the Board of Public Works holds a public meeting. The North Attleborough Housing Authority meets Thursday, Aug. 13.
