Rehoboth Select Board Bars Outside Vendors From Residential Yard Sales

Select Board · Meeting of August 10, 2026

Rehoboth Select Board allows a Curry Lane yard sale but bans outside vendors over traffic fears. Board members said a similar event last year drew enough vendor traffic to block emergency vehicles on the dead-end street, with one member recalling, "You could not get down that road." The board directed the town administrator to send a letter formalizing the no-vendor restriction while permitting directional signage removed within 24 hours. Separately, members approved a fiscal 2027 PFAS remediation contract tied to a $300,000 town meeting article, accepted a $24,894 Chapter 90 reimbursement for line painting on six roads, signed three-year contracts for four department heads with 3 percent and 2.5 percent raises, and approved a National Grid and Verizon pole relocation on Reservoir Avenue.

The chairman also credited a colleague with securing a $219,000 grant for the town's fiber-optic network.
