North Attleborough Imposes Stage 2 Outdoor Water Restrictions

NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH — The town has moved to Stage 2 outdoor water restrictions, barring all non-essential outdoor water use, the most consequential local development in the past day alongside a slate of town board meetings set for the coming week.

TOWN HALL North Attleborough has implemented a Stage 2 Water Restriction, prohibiting all non-essential outdoor water use townwide, according to a town announcement posted to the municipal website. The order marks an escalation from earlier watering limits and applies across North Attleborough as dry conditions persist.

The town's Health Department also continues to prepare residents and retailers for a statewide ban on kratom product sales that takes effect Aug. 28 under a new emergency order from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, a restriction the News Flash first flagged earlier this week.

COMING UP Town Council convenes Monday, Aug. 24, alongside separate public meetings of the Board of Assessors and the Licensing Board, all scheduled for that day. The Conservation Commission meets Tuesday, Aug. 25, followed by the Finance Sub-Committee and the Board of Public Works, both meeting Wednesday, Aug. 26.

Early voting for the Tuesday, Sept. 1 state primary remains open through the week, giving residents multiple days to cast ballots ahead of Election Day.
