Norton Conservation Commission continues hearing on revived 72-unit apartment complex to January 26. Attorney Jack Decoby told the board a 60-unit version of the Zero Mansfield Avenue project lost a Planning Board special permit vote 4-3, one shy of the required five, before being appealed to Superior Court and remanded. The revised plan grows the project to 72 units, adds a roughly 2,000-foot sewer extension, and would deed-restrict 3.4 acres on Lot E as permanent open space.

The commission also approved wetlands orders for three smaller projects, issued a negative determination for a drainage trench at 86 Mansfield Avenue, and reviewed a plan to restore 7,182 square feet of unpermitted riverfront disturbance at 181 West Main Street with 14,364 square feet of new plantings. Member Joe Carvello raised concerns that the restoration plan blocked fire access to a commercial building.
