Planning Board Approves Main Street Lot Transfer for Animal Hospital Sale

ACUSHNET — June 18, 2026 — Acushnet Planning Board unanimously approves lot-line adjustment clearing the way for a Main Street animal hospital sale. The board voted without objection Thursday to accept an Approval Not Required plan transferring 15,046 square feet from 265 Main Street — the site of a former animal hospital — to the adjacent residential parcel at 255 Main Street, both owned by Liberio Soares. Surveyor John Romanelli of Zenith Land Surveyors told the board the reconfigured lots will contain 45,000 and 76,296 square feet respectively, both conforming to the Business Village District's 10,000-square-foot minimum. A temporary parking easement over a triangular section of the newly enlarged lot will allow the animal hospital's future buyer one to two years to reconfigure parking onto their own property. A small shed straddling the new boundary must be relocated before the sale proceeds.
