Town Meeting · Meeting of October 29, 2026

Seekonk officials previewed a 21-article Town Meeting warrant ahead of the November 9 vote. Town Moderator Sean Kadeem reviewed routine fund transfers alongside bigger-ticket items: a $1.75 million debt exclusion for a Hurley Middle School feasibility study, which Superintendent of Schools Rebecca Kidwell said is 54 percent reimbursable by the MSBA, and a third attempt at funding the South End Fire Station after failed votes of 112-108 in May 2025 and 216-118 in September 2025. The warrant also includes a home rule petition letting Seekonk tax nonprofits owning more than 100 acres, aimed at the Wheeler School, and zoning changes sought by Michael Novison of the Friends of the Medeiros Farm Committee that would make municipal projects zoning-by-right.

"We feel Town Meeting has spoken loud and clear," Novison said, citing six prior votes favoring the Medeiros Farm project. No votes occurred during the broadcast itself.
