Select Board approves 17-article fall warrant
Select Board 2026-09-28 Part 2 · Meeting of September 28, 2026
Dartmouth Select Board sets 17-article fall Town Meeting warrant, splits on capital plan. The board, chaired by Heidi Silva Brooks, voted 5-0 to send a $5.5 million wastewater treatment plant borrowing article and a $1 million Community Preservation purchase of 29 acres off Tucker Road to the October 20 Fall Annual Town Meeting. Member David Tatelbaum cast the lone dissent, 4-1, on the $5.7 million fiscal 2027 Capital Improvement Plan because it omits a roughly $400,000 De Mello Elementary playground replacement, saying delay would cost "essentially two years." The board also ratified a three-year United Steelworkers contract with 3%, 1% and 2% raises and doubled the police cruiser detail fee to $20 an hour.
Town Administrator Cody Haddad separately warned that a new six-ton weight limit takes effect October 1 on the Pasquamansett Bridge, barring school buses and most emergency vehicles.
