Select Board Finalizes 17-Article Fall Town Meeting Warrant
Select Board · Meeting of September 28, 2026
Dartmouth Select Board sets 17-article fall warrant, backs $5.5 million sewer bond. The board voted 5-0 Monday to recommend borrowing up to $5.5 million for a wastewater treatment plant aeration upgrade, with member David Tatelbaum calling it "the beginning of what we need to do for this town to clean up our water and sewer." Members also approved a $1 million Community Preservation purchase of a 29-acre conservation restriction on Tucker Road, 4-0 with Tatelbaum recused, and split 4-1 on a $1.8 million capital plan after member Nathan Silva failed to add $400,000 for a DeMello Elementary School playground, saying a deteriorating structure leaves kids without a working playground for "a third of their time in elementary school." The board ratified a three-year United Steelworkers contract with 3, 1 and 2 percent raises covering 17 department-head posts, doubled the police cruiser detail fee to $20 an hour, and approved a $3.6 million Shaw's Supermarket renovation on State Road.
