Swansea Enters July Fourth Week With No Major Municipal Announcements

With the coverage window falling on a late-June weekend, no urgent announcements came out of Town Hall, the schools, or the library in the past 24 to 48 hours — a characteristic lull for the final days of June in a small SouthCoast community.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Swansea Free Public Library wrapped up a busy stretch of June programming. An author visit with Steven Manchester took place Thursday, June 25, and the library's Summer Reading Kick-Off — featuring Mr. Vinny the Bubble Guy and watermelon games — is either underway or just concluded, based on the library's homepage. Residents looking to keep kids engaged over the holiday week can check the library calendar at swansealibrary.org; the branch is open Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
