Town moves to Stage 2 outdoor water restrictions

NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH — The town has moved to Stage 2 outdoor water restrictions, tightening rules on lawn watering and other outdoor water use as North Attleborough works through a stretch of summer heat, according to a town announcement posted to the official website.

The Stage 2 designation is the most consequential move out of Town Hall this week. The town's announcement did not specify the exact days or hours residents may still water outdoors under the new stage, so residents should check the town website or Big Red 311 for the specific restriction schedule before watering lawns or gardens.

Separately, Fire Chief Christopher Coleman announced a round of promotions, new hires and service-milestone recognitions within the North Attleborough Fire Department, according to a News Flash release from the department. The announcement did not list the individual officers or milestones being recognized.

The town is also now accepting applications for the Fiscal Year 2027 Means-Tested Senior Property Tax Exemption, giving eligible senior homeowners a window to apply for relief on their property tax bills. Residents interested in applying should contact the Assessors' Office for eligibility requirements and deadlines.

The North Attleboro Firefighters Kids Day Association's Kids Day Weekend runs Thursday, July 16, through Sunday, July 19, capped by the Kids Day Fire Trucks & Walking Parade on Saturday, July 18, at 11 a.m., stepping off through downtown as part of the town's 250th anniversary celebration.

The following week brings a cluster of town board meetings: the Board of Assessors, Board of Library Trustees and Cultural Council all meet Monday, July 20, and the Council on Aging meets Tuesday, July 21.
