Acushnet Conservation Commission clears 12-unit over-55 development on Middle Road

ACUSHNET — May 13, 2026 — Acushnet Conservation Commission unanimously approved an amended drainage order, a 12-unit over-55 development, and a septic upgrade at its May 13 meeting. Attorney Jim Marsh and engineer Steve Cavallo of Firland Corporation won approval of revised plans for 185 Manapoised Road that eliminate a retaining wall and stockade fence in favor of an extended grass drainage swale, after the commission first lifted an existing enforcement order against owners Shane and Courtney Tracy. Attorney David M. D'Amico of Schneider D'Amico and Leone secured an order of conditions for MD Southcoast Properties LLC's six-duplex, 12-unit special residential development at 72 Middle Road, a project that generated $72,000 in municipal sewer connection fees at $6,000 per unit and received a clean second peer review from Merrill Engineering on April 27. The commission also voted a negative determination for a voluntary Title 5 septic upgrade at 151 Perry Hill Road, owned by Americo Elias, confirming that work will not encroach on the flagged wetland boundary.
