ACUSHNET — April 8, 2026 — Acushnet Conservation Commission votes to issue a formal enforcement order against 324 Main Street after months of failed informal compliance efforts. The board, at its April 8 meeting, directed its agent to prepare the written order — recommended by town counsel — for signing at the April 22 session after the property owner, identified as Mr. Romans, took no action under a prior gentleman's agreement with the commission. The board also approved an order of conditions for a septic pump-and-raise upgrade at 166 Lawson Ave., owned by Allen and Cora Baker, with engineer Dan McHale of Gorski and Mahoney Engineering describing the project as "pretty cut and dry" and the closest work sitting 65 feet from wetlands. A new stormwater complaint from a resident at 659 Main Street — who reported basement flooding caused by a neighbor's grading — was flagged for a commission site visit after the agent confirmed there are no wetlands on the neighboring parcel. Three ongoing public hearings, including a 3.116-megawatt solar farm at 540R Main Street and a proposed 55-plus development at 72 Middle Road, were continued to April 22.
