Council on Aging · Meeting of October 13, 2026

WESTPORT — The Westport Council on Aging voted to table elections for its vacant treasurer and secretary seats until November 17. Member Lisa Feitelberg-Costa presented a packet citing guidance from Town Administrator Chris Vitali on bylaw requirements, but member David LaLima said he was "hesitant to vote on a treasurer when we don't have a job description." Vice Chair Antonio Cestodio told the board that a pending state Senate bill, expected to pass within a month, could reclassify the council from an advisory to a different statutory status under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 48B, following a dispute that originated in Sherborn. The board separately voted unanimously to accept amended August minutes and re-tabled its actual July minutes over missing attendance and meeting-time details.

Director Lauren Monticello reported 488 September transportation rides and 25 enrolled Supportive Day participants, while member Muriel Kokoszka flagged a missing AARP grant deposit from the new monthly finance report.
