Norton officials preview a packed Town Meeting warrant headlined by an $11.4 million school roof. Select Board Chair Roger Marsan and Town Manager Mark Gould taped a public walkthrough of key articles ahead of the annual Town Meeting set for May 18 at 7 p.m. at the High School Auditorium. The roof project carries a Massachusetts School Building Authority reimbursement rate of 55.63 percent and would cost homeowners roughly $60 per family over 20 years.

The warrant also includes a new multi-year operating budget under Article 8 designed to reduce reliance on one-time revenues, a 10-year capital plan that accounts for a $3.5 million fire engine, and a design study for the Taunton Avenue four-way intersection — a project Gould said could draw at least $4 million in state construction funding if approved as a TIP project. Article 23 would end Norton's mandatory five-year sewer tie-in rule, replacing it with triggers tied to property sale or septic failure, a change DPW Director Justin Chica is said to support.
