Westport Sets 36-Article Warrant for May 5 Annual Town Meeting

Town Meeting · Meeting of April 28, 2026

Westport's 2026 Annual Town Meeting will take up 36 warrant articles on May 5 at the Middle High School Auditorium. Town Administrator Chris Vitale outlined the warrant in a recorded public-information address tied to a preview session held April 28 at Town Hall. The articles span routine financial housekeeping, the annual operating budget covering public safety, schools, and public works, and six zoning-related items addressing accessory dwelling units, floodplain rules, and zoning map changes.

Two items drew specific attention: a local-option personal property tax exemption for small businesses and a proposal to create a new stabilization fund for future personnel contract costs. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. and will stream live on Westport Community Television and YouTube; the full warrant is posted at www.westport-ma.com.
