Rehoboth Conservation Board Approves Six Wetlands Permits

Conservation Commission · Meeting of August 18, 2026

Rehoboth Conservation Commission approves six wetlands cases, hears flooding concerns near proposed wellness facility. Engineer Mark Mariano of Oak Hill Engineering won unanimous orders of conditions for projects at 125 Mason Street, 14 Jameson Drive and 48 Winthrop Street, the last a commercial wellness facility with an outdoor 104-degree spa pool, indoor spa pool and cold-plunge pool. Civil engineer Austin Chartier of McKenzie Engineering Group secured approval for a 24 New Street home after boosting wetland replication to a 1.25-to-1 ratio, covering roughly 6,090 square feet; commissioners called his report "more thorough than a lot of the ones we get." Longtime abutter Oscar Couette of 41 Winthrop Street told the board he and his wife, Patricia, have watched flooding return to Route 44 near the wellness site and asked commissioners to "help us to understand or mitigate that concern." The board continued applications at 129 Mason Street and 154 Agricultural Avenue, and granted a certificate of compliance for a septic repair at 319 Winthrop Street.
