North Attleborough Conservation Commission to Issue Enforcement Order for Unpermitted Riverfront Structures

Conservation Commission · Meeting of August 4, 2026

North Attleborough Conservation Commission moves to enforce removal of unpermitted riverfront structures on Abbott Run. The commission voted unanimously at its August 4 meeting to pursue an enforcement restoration order against Lawrence Sulee, owner of 100 Huntsbridge Road, after Conservation Administrator Sandra McCrory and Member Deborah Cato documented an unpermitted covered bar structure and a zoning-prohibited construction trailer built in 2021 within the 100-foot inner riparian zone of Abbott Run, a designated cold water fishery. Vice Chair Jillian Miller said DEP, which flagged the site through aerial imagery, almost certainly acted because of the cleared riverbank vegetation: "The shading on the side of the banks of the river is really critical for those fish species that's getting protected in that river." Sulee, who attended the meeting, agreed to remove both structures and said he would pull the construction trailer the following morning with the building department's approval; the tiki bar removal and seeding with erosion control mix are planned for fall 2026.

The commission also approved negative determinations with conditions for deck replacement projects at 297 Payne Road and 1 Stonewood Circle, deferred signing a land court waiver involving a tax-delinquent vacant parcel at 197 Lindsay Street pending research into a 2000-era order of conditions, and approved minutes from its July 7 and July 21 meetings.
