REHOBOTH — May 4, 2026 — Rehoboth Select Board tables French Street utility pole hearing after National Grid misses the meeting. Resident Keith Foley of 53 French Street told the board Monday that a proposed new National Grid pole would sit as close as 20 feet from the pole already serving his house, far tighter than the 150-to-170-foot spacing found elsewhere on the street, and board members noted no utility representative had appeared to explain the design. One member said the plans appeared to have been drawn "far away from here" without site verification and urged the board not to vote without answers. The hearing was recessed to May 18 at 7:30 p.m. In other business, the board approved warrants totaling more than $446,000, signed the annual town meeting warrant submission letter, hired David Pino as a part-time seasonal facilities worker pending a physical, and granted two one-day all-alcohol licenses to the Holy Ghost Brotherhood of Charity for May 15 and May 31 events.
