Dartmouth Planning Board Approves Two Faunce Corner Site Plans, Continues Third

DARTMOUTH — June 22, 2026 — Dartmouth Planning Board advances Big Y expansion and Faunce Corner convenience store project in quick session. The board voted 4-0 at its June 22 remote meeting to approve a certificate of action for the Big Y expansion at 57 Faunce Corner Mall Road (PSPR-26-2), with a projected opening of May 2027, and granted administrative approval authority to the planning director for a convenience store with fuel facilities at 411 Faunce Corner Road (PSPR-26-1) after DPW Engineering signed off on final plan revisions the morning of the meeting. Engineer Phil Henry of Civil Design Group told the board the revised plans addressed a board-requested tree removal and a new subsurface detention system, saying "we think we've addressed the planning board comments and the DPW comments." A third application, for 0 State Road (PSPR-26-3), was continued to the July 13 meeting pending Conservation Commission peer review and outstanding DPW comments. The board also tentatively scheduled DPW Director Timothy Barber to brief members on a treatment plant study with implications for the ongoing Dartmouth Future Zoning discussion, targeting July 27 at 7 p.m.
