North Attleborough Planning Board gives Gregory Manor developer 30 days to fix open-space encroachments. Chair Jason Gittle told developer Darius Gregory the board will recommend a special-permit violation finding against him unless he reaches a unanimous agreement with his five homeowners by the August 27 meeting, after engineer Janet Bernardo of the Horsley-Witten Group detailed a pool, spa house, basketball court, propane tanks and stone walls encroaching roughly 27,000 square feet onto shared open space and a conservation restriction. "I should know better," Gregory told the board, calling the encroachments unintentional.

An attorney representing three of five affected households pushed back, asking, "How can you sell a house to someone and even say, you are going to be taking on this headache?" The project's $145,000 performance bond may not cover the fix. Separately, the board continued public hearings on the seven-lot Hillside Estates Subdivision and a 405 Plain Street industrial building to August 27 and August 13, and heard that a $179,000 state Green Communities grant nearly lapsed before securing a three-year extension.
