Select Board · Meeting of August 5, 2026

Seekonk Select Board suspends a used-car dealer's license and clashes over a $50,000 school contract. The board voted 3-1, with Christopher Zorra dissenting, to suspend K&A Auto's Class II license at 190 Taunton Avenue until Sept. 2 after Police Chief Ennis testified the dealership generated 14 calls for service since January versus one across the town's other 18 dealerships. Chairperson Gary Sagar and Town Administrator Shawn E.

Cadime publicly disagreed over who authorized a $50,000 GPI engineering contract for the Martin School parking lot, which the board ultimately approved 4-0. Vice Chairperson Michael P. Healy blocked same-night action on a proposed human resources director reorganization, saying "it's always been done in an executive session because it's a personnel matter," and the board tabled it to Aug. 19.

Residents also pressed the board over its decision to order an independent traffic study rather than sign a bid $825,000 Medeiros Farm design contract.
