Select Board · Meeting of August 3, 2026

WESTPORT — The Select Board raised several parking fines from $25 to $50, effective January 1, 2027. The vote followed a public hearing with no public comment; beach parking was excluded. Members also unanimously approved Police Chief Chris Dunn's requests: Sergeant Scott Arrington's retirement and reserve appointment, the hiring of Jacob Days, and the promotion of Michael Chica to sergeant.

The board accepted a $1,000 donation to Marine Services from a family whose son was revived by harbor staff, and approved extending the MassDOT Chapter 90 contract to June 30, 2037. A cemetery update showed just under 200 plots left and a funding gap of about $200,000 or more.
