Acushnet Board of Health issues septic compliance orders at two long-delinquent properties

ACUSHNET — March 17, 2026 — Acushnet Board of Health moves to fine two property owners $200 a day over long-unresolved septic violations. The board voted unanimously at its March 17 meeting to send certified compliance letters to the owners of 12 Carroll Street and 23 Frank Street, both of which have had septic system violations or unfinished work outstanding for years — Carroll Street since at least 2022 and Frank Street since an approved 2018 plan was never acted upon. Chair David Davignon led the deliberation, noting the owners have "been skirting state law" through multiple unanswered notices; the letters give owners 60 days to submit or permit a plan and 90 days to complete installation or face $200-per-day fines. The board also appointed member Robert Medeiros as temporary burial agent pending a permanent hire.
