Acushnet Select Board Ratifies One-Year and Three-Year AFSCME Labor Agreements

ACUSHNET — June 29, 2026 — Acushnet Select Board ratifies two AFSCME labor contracts ahead of town meeting. The board convened briefly at 6:25 p.m. on June 29 at the school library solely to enter executive session under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 38, Section 21A, Purpose 3 for collective bargaining strategy discussions involving three bargaining units: Fire EMS Local Union 3281 of the United Steelworkers AFL-CIO-CLC, Supervisory Unit Local 9517, and AFSCME Local 851. Upon returning to public session, Member Hinckley moved to confirm ratification of a one-year and a three-year memorandum of agreement with the AFSCME Local Union; the motion passed unanimously. No contract terms were disclosed publicly. No public action was taken on the two other bargaining units named in the executive session notice.
