Norton Planning Board continues four development cases to January, February
Planning Board · Meeting of January 6, 2026
Norton Planning Board continues four development cases, including a court-remanded 72-unit apartment plan, without a single final vote. The board voted 7-0 to let applicant Thomas Grossi withdraw a duplex permit for 0 Sturdy Street without prejudice so he can pursue an accessory dwelling unit instead, and 7-0 to continue a four-story Covo Properties project at 61 West Main Street to January 20. A three-lot, three-duplex subdivision off Aubrew Lane near the Norton Reservoir, proposed by Mirai's Legacy Real Estate and presented by engineer Courtney Beckwith, drew objections over a lack of tree screening: "It'll be clear cut basically from the property line back," Beckwith told the board.
Public comment turned tense when resident Debbie Winston said it was "like a slap in the face" that Town Planner Paul could not answer a board member's procedural question; the chair ruled the exchange off topic. The Blue Lane case was continued to February 3.
