Rehoboth Conservation Commission Continues Mason Street Wetland Cases to July 21

REHOBOTH — July 7, 2026 — Rehoboth Conservation Commission unanimously continued three Mason Street wetland applications and called for its third-party consultant to appear in person after disputing both a riverfront channel delineation and a field wetland boundary. The commission, led by Chair Bob, voted to continue an Abbreviated Notice of Resource Area Delineation and two Notices of Intent for applicants Tammy and Stevie Noons at 125 and 129 Mason Street to July 21, citing conflicting soil logs, a single field data point from LEC Environmental, and the chair's argument that a channel below original flag 36 behaves as an arm of Rocky Run Brook rather than a low-watershed intermittent stream. Commission liaison Dave Evans separately briefed the board on a Community Preservation Committee proposal to triple the town's CPA surcharge from 1 percent to 3 percent, which would raise annual CPA revenue from roughly $340,000 to slightly more than $1 million and increase the median homeowner's annual surcharge from $67 to $200.
