Rehoboth Conservation Commission Continues Two Mason Street Wetland Cases, Sends Third to Outside Review

REHOBOTH — June 23, 2026 — Rehoboth Conservation Commission continues two Mason Street wetland delineation cases and votes unanimously to send a third to outside review. At the June 23 meeting, engineer Mark Mariano of Oak Hill Engineering presented an updated delineation for applicant Kami Nunes at 125 and 129 Mason Street, but commissioners — who recalled finding water at ground level during a December 2025 site walk — continued the matter after the third-party reviewer's letter arrived the same day as the hearing. For a separate proposed two-family dwelling at zero Mason Street, wetland scientist Brandon Fanoff of Ecosystem Solutions argued his 2009 delineation remained accurate and unchanged, but all six commissioners present sided with the chair's policy rationale: "We treat everybody the same, and we can't be any different," sending the matter to outside consultant ECR. The commission closed the public hearing and issued Orders of Conditions for a duplex project at 248 County Street, where the applicant's plans stay outside the 200-foot riparian zone, and granted Certificates of Compliance for completed projects at 108 Summer Street, 135 School Street, and 112 Broad Street, while tabling a COC for 22 Buckland Street due to missing required signs.
