Select Board Backs Medeiros Farm Traffic Study, 3-1
Select Board · Meeting of September 30, 2026
Seekonk Select Board votes 3-1 to fund a Medeiros Farm traffic study after years of delay. Acting on a Medeiros Farm Committee recommendation, members Christopher Zorra, Elizabeth Elmasian and Chair Gary Sagar approved a roughly $23,000 contract with Howard Stein Hudson; Clerk Robert Archambault recused himself and left the room for the discussion. The committee separately voted, over member David Sullivan's objection, to file its own special-permit application with the Zoning Board of Appeals.
Resident Joe Novenson told the board "this community has your backs" in pushing the long-stalled project forward. Elsewhere, the board rewrote its Fall Town Meeting warrant, killing a $89,000 school cable-access article for lack of funding and cutting a competing Seekonk Cable Access request from $142,000 to $84,000. Vice Chair Michael Healy said, "I'm not going to support cutting the local access channel again." Police presented three years of Flock camera data, citing roughly 200,000 daily plate reads and a 30-day deletion policy, after resident Paul Miles Mathias raised accuracy and oversight concerns.
