Easton Planning Board splits 3-2 on a townwide data center ban while unanimously tightening a new battery storage bylaw. Temporary chair Ryan Cook and member Amos voted against forwarding the Mansfield-modeled prohibition, while members Alan, Kathy Kidd and Chris Lopes carried it 3-2 to the Select Board. Chickadee Lane resident Dr.

Kyla Bennett, chief scientist for the nonprofit Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility, testified the town's drought leaves "no water to support data centers" and persuaded the board to amend a separate battery energy storage bylaw, lowering the residential storage cap from 250 to 50 kilowatt-hours and barring installations near the town's wellhead protection zones, citing Easton's $11.2 million water filtration system. The board also approved a $59,038 cash surety to release two subdivision lots at Niagara Estates.
