Planning Board OKs lot plan, drafts Question 7 flyer

Planning Board · Meeting of September 28, 2026

Dartmouth Planning Board members draft a flyer opposing a statewide ballot measure they say threatens local zoning control. Clerk Kevin Estes pushed to frame the flyer bluntly: "Yes means Dartmouth changes forever. No vote keeps control in Dartmouth." Member Nicholas Psichopaidas said he's personally telling contacts to vote no, citing past fights over density near Route 6 and Faunce Corner Road.

Chair Lorri-Ann Miller said a prior Select Board briefing drew responses dismissing the issue as limited to "the snobs in South Dartmouth." Assistant Director of Planning Ross Cuddy will finalize the flyer for the town meeting warrant packet by 9 a.m. the next morning. Separately, the board voted 5-0 to approve an Approval Not Required plan reconfiguring lots at 1163 and 1185 Old Fall River Road, and approved minutes from its July 27 and August 10 meetings, also 5-0. Staff said the vote starts the town's wastewater-availability review clock, amid concerns about several of the town's 13 lift stations, including one serving the Route 6 corridor.
