Planning Board approves two new subdivisions
Planning Board · Meeting of September 2, 2026
Rehoboth Planning Board resists a 206-unit 40B pitch on the Zuckerberg family's 200-acre Route 44 parcel while approving two smaller projects. Engineer Rob Davis of InSite Engineering told the board Rehoboth's subsidized housing inventory sits at just 1.15 percent, "ripe for 40B developers," as he floated a preliminary comprehensive-permit concept for trustee Ralph Zuckerberg. Chairman Lenny Mills was blunt: "I'm not giving no waiver on a 40B.
I'm not doing it." No vote was taken; Davis will report back on whether Zuckerberg might accept a smaller conventional subdivision instead. Separately, the board voted 4-0 twice to approve a five-lot Dream Homes, LLC subdivision on Baker Street and a site-plan renovation at 151 Winthrop Street, and waived site-plan review unanimously for a proposed classic-car dealership at 40 Anawan Street.
