Seekonk board OKs library contract, new vote policy
Select Board · Meeting of September 16, 2026
Seekonk signs $983,515 library design deal amid new contract-review push. Clerk Robert Archambault pressed the Select Board to require full contract paperwork before votes, saying past boards voted "with possibly just a blank master contract." Town Administrator Shawn Cadime said the Brewster Thornton fee, plus $31,000 in allowances, runs about 14.5 percent of the library's $7.2 million construction budget. The board also voted to appoint police officers Justyn Callahan and Robert Fontaine, accepted Cadime's performance evaluation at a 2.95 average score, and heard renewed public pressure to restart the stalled Medeiros Farm design contract.
One resident called the TA score "appalled"-worthy, saying his "job performance...has not failed or changed since his last evaluation." The board also forwarded zoning amendments, including a proposed data-center prohibition, to the Planning Board.
